James B. Haddow
is a partner with the Portland law firm of Petruccelli, Martin & Haddow, LLP, where he advises and represents clients on, among other things, professional licensing and professional discipline matters. He served as treasurer on the Board of Governors of the Maine State Bar Association from 2018-2022, and he now serves as vice president of the MSBA. He is also a member of the Cumberland County and American bar associations; and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Haddow earned his B.A. degree in philosophy from Colby College and his J.D. degree from the University of Maine.

Joseph P. Mendes
is a partner with Fisher Phillips, where he brings more than a decade of litigation experience representing clients in complex civil disputes. He has tried more than 100 cases to verdict across Massachusetts and Maine and focuses his practice on high-stakes labor and employment matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and workplace safety issues. Before joining Fisher Phillips, Mr. Mendes practiced in the Boston and Portland, Maine offices of a litigation defense firm, where he handled employment, products liability, premises liability, catastrophic injury, and other high-exposure civil cases. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Maine. Mr. Mendes earned his J.D. degree from the University of Maine School of Law.

Henry Norwood
is an attorney with Kaufman Dolowich LLP and concentrates his practice in ERISA litigation and compliance, general liability, commercial litigation, employment law, and managed care. He represents clients in a wide range of managed care health litigation and compliance, including hospital liability defense, nursing home defense, commercial health disputes, HIPAA, and healthcare organizational issues. Mr. Norwood provides pro bono legal representation to refugees fleeing persecution and seeking asylum in the United States. He is admitted to practice in Maine, Massachusetts, Florida and California. Mr. Norwood earned his B.A. degree from University of Maine and his J.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law.

Stephen C. Smith
is an attorney with Steve Smith Trial Lawyers. He has been a trial lawyer for over 20 years with a statewide practice in criminal defense, personal injury and family law. Mr. Smith brings a businesslike approach to his litigation practice. He assists clients in divorce and custody cases, homicides, sex crimes, domestic violence, abuse and drug-related charges. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and federal and state courts, he has also been a longtime member of the Bar of the Penobscot and Passamaquoddy Tribal Courts and once acted as the Penobscot Tribe's child protective attorney general. Mr. Smith is a member of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Maine State Bar Association, and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Maine; University of Kharkov in Kharkov, Ukraine; and his J.D. degree from the University of Maine School of Law.
