is a nationally recognized thought leader on AI, eDiscovery, and the use of technology across the employment lifecycle. As a shareholder at Littler Mendelson, P.C. - the world's largest labor and employment law firm - and co-chair of the firm's AI practice, he advises clients on pragmatic and compliant approaches to assessing, deploying, and managing employee-focused AI tools on the one hand and defends against AI-based employment class actions on the other. Mr. Ray's cross-functional guidance supports business, product, and HR teams in navigating the evolving use and regulation of AI-driven tools and processes. He helps clients create and implement AI development policies, select and deploy AI tools, train teams on AI risks, and comply with emerging regulations in the U.S. and internationally. Using his deep legal and technological expertise, Mr. Ray provides tailored solutions for integrating AI across the employment lifecycle while minimizing compliance and litigation risks. Prior to Littler, he was a litigator at Jones Day, and before that, was an engineer who spent several years coding, designing, and leading the development of supply chain software applications for Retek Inc., now part of Oracle. Mr. Ray is a native of India, a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, and a proud son of Macalester College, where he teaches trial advocacy and coaches a nationally-ranked Mock Trial program. When not staring at a screen and keyboard, he enjoys spinning tales for his parents, wife and children.

is a partner with Blackgarden Law. He began his career in his family's sporting goods business, an 80-year multi-generational enterprise that ultimately expanded from Colorado to New Mexico and Texas. When the business was sold in 1995, Mr. Gardenswartz brought his experience and passion for technology and marketing to the practice of law. During law school, he wrote for SMU Law's International Journal and his paper, The Risk of Loss in Electronic Transactions, was published in the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology. Mr. Gardenswartz graduated, cum laude, from SMU Law School. His specialties include trademarks, craft breweries, contracts, payment systems, e-commerce, digital media and general business management. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Gardenswartz is co-developer of a tech-flex office building in downtown Albuquerque and co-owner of Surefi, an ad-tech company that combines proximity marketing with media targeting for mid-sized and regional brands in the craft beverage industry. He has represented and advised entrepreneurs on branding-related legal issues for over 15 years.

is a shareholder in the Memphis office of the Lewis Thomason. He also serves as the firm's privacy officer. In addition to a range of experience in litigation and business law matters, Mr. Joy heads up Lewis Thomason's Data Security and Information Privacy practice group. He provides counsel to clients in a number of business sectors in the area of information privacy and data security including incident investigation; and breach response management, regulatory compliance, privacy and security policy review and drafting, and cyber risk management. Specifically in the area of healthcare, Mr. Joy counsels covered entities and business associates on a variety of matters pertaining to HIPAA Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Breach Notification Rule compliance. He also defends regulated clients in investigations arising from privacy and security incidents. Mr. Joy is a certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US), and Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) through the IAPP, formerly known as the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He is also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) through ISACA, an international association credentialing professionals in the digital trust fields such as information security, governance, assurance, risk, privacy and quality.

What happens if my course is cancelled?
In the unlikely event that NBI cancels or reschedules an upcoming program, each registered attendee will be contacted via email by a representative of NBI. Outreach to attendees begins as soon as NBI is made aware that a program will not move forward at its originally scheduled date and time.
