Alan S. Funk
is a partner with Wechsler Becker, LLP in Seattle, a ten attorney firm exclusively practicing family law. He has been practicing family law since 1992, and has acted as a Title 26 guardian ad litem and a volunteer court appointed special advocate. Mr. Funk's presentations include: "Working with Pro Se Litigants as Opposing Party," at the WSTLA Family Law & Criminal Law CLE (11/30/06); "Evaluating the Evaluator; Preparation for and Deposition of the Parenting Evaluator," at KCBA Family Law Section Hot Topics CLE (10/5/07); "Advanced Family Law Practice for Paralegals;" "Drafting Child Support Orders and Worksheets," (8/14/08); "Financial Settlement Strategies for Your Divorce Clients;" "Getting A Divorce Case Off to the Right Foot," (12/11/08); "Legal Strategies for Coping with Parents Who Alienate," (2010); "Parenting Disputes from A to Z: In the Best Interests of the Child;" "Ethical Considerations," (3/3/2010); "Effective Use of Parenting Evaluations in Divorce," (2011); "Discovery of Electronic Records, How to Discover, Produce and Review Electronic Data;" and, "Tools and Tips for Dealing with New Technologies," (2009). His volunteer work includes Eastside Legal Clinic, an arbitrator on King County Mandatory Arbitration Panel, King County Superior Court Settlement Conference Master, an instructor for a King County "How to Finish Your Divorce" class, and a member of the King County Bar Association Courts and Judiciary Committee, and the Judicial Evaluations Committee. Mr. Funk is past secretary and then member of the King County Bar Association's Board of Trustees, past secretary of the King County Bar Association Family Law Section, past vice-chair of King County Bar Association Family Law Section, and past chairman of King County Bar Association Family Law Section.

Jennifer Babounakis
is a principal with Roop Xanttopoulos Babounakis PLLC in Tysons, Virginia. She began her family law career to blend her experience in family counseling, corporate law and litigation. Ms. Babounakis relies on her corporate law experience when managing complex equitable distribution issues, such as property valuation, financial tracing and division. She likewise uses her understanding in mental health to aide in managing the social issues that are frequently involved in family law cases. Ms. Babounakis earned her B.S. degree from Arizona State University, her master's degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from New York Law School. As an evening law student, Ms. Babounakis served as chief aide to Professor Nadine Strossen, the then president of the American Civil Liberties Union; and as an associate editor to the New York Law School Law Review. After law school, Ms. Babounakis practiced law for five years at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton, LLP in Washington D.C.

John Whitbeck
is the founder and majority shareholder with WhitbeckBeglis, PLLC in Leesburg, Virginia. He focuses his practice on family law, criminal law, mental health law, civil litigation and many other areas. Mr. Whitbeck has also been certified as an expert witness in litigation. He is an adjunct professor of law at George Mason University Law School, teaching mental illness law. Mr. Whitbeck is the director of the George Mason University Law and Mental Illness Clinic. He has served as substitute judge in Virginia district courts, hearing civil and criminal matters including family law cases. Mr. Whitbeck also served as a special justice for civil commitment hearings in the 20th Judicial Circuit, which requires him to sit as a judge for hearings to commit mentally ill individuals to psychiatric treatment. He has also served as a special prosecutor in the Loudoun County General District Courts. Mr. Whitbeck earned his A.B. degree from Occidental College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from George Mason University-Antonin Scalia Law School.

Rebekah Frye
is a certified family law specialist with nearly 30 years of experience navigating the most complex and consequential family law matters. Her practice focuses on high-conflict custody litigation, domestic violence cases involving coercive control, and sophisticated financial matters including fiduciary breaches and high-net-worth asset division. Appointed by the court to represent children for over two decades, Ms. Frye has extensive experience developing individualized parenting plans, particularly for neurodiverse children, in highly polarized custody disputes. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and holds an LL.M. degree in taxation, equipping her to handle the most challenging property and business valuation issues with precision and strategic clarity.

Spencer D. West
is an equity partner, shareholder and co-founder of the law firm of Mitchell & West, LLC. He specializes in the area of family law. Mr. West is admitted to The Florida Bar and Massachusetts Bar Association; where he actively represents clients in an array of cases including divorces, custody, child support, relocation, modification, paternity and domestic violence disputes. In addition, he is permitted to practice before Florida federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. West has assisted many professional clients, including but not limited to doctors, lawyers, accountants and retired professional athletes with their high asset divorces and other disputes; as well as with drafting custom pre and postnuptial agreements. He is sought out by clients and other lawyers for his extensive expertise and dedication to fighting for his clients. Mr. West is an aggressive litigator who devotes himself to achieving the best results for his individual clients, while maintaining the highest ethical standards of professionalism. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Boston and his J.D. degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston.
