Douglas W. Desmarais
is a partner with Smith & Downey, P.A., where his practice deals with all aspects of employment relationships, with particular emphasis on educating employers about the many labor and employment laws that govern the workplace, and helping employers comply with these laws, thus avoiding costly and time-consuming litigation. Additionally, Mr. Desmarais has extensive experience in representing clients before the EEOC, DOL, OFCCP, NLRB, and numerous other federal, state and local agencies and courts. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and District of Columbia Bar Association. Mr. Desmarais earned his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University, his J.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and his LL.M. degree in labor law from Georgetown University School of Law.

Adele L. Abrams
is an attorney and safety professional, who is president of the Law Office of Adele L. Abrams, P.C., with offices in Maryland, Colorado and West Virginia. She handles employment matters in multiple states and represents employers in OSHA and MSHA litigation nationwide. Ms. Abrams also provides consultation, audits, and training services to regulated companies. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Catholic University of America, and the University of Colorado - Boulder, where she instructs on employment and labor law. Ms. Abrams is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Maryland State Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in multiple U.S. district and circuit courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is co-author of the textbooks, The Safety Professional's Handbook and Construction Safety Management and Engineering. Ms. Abrams earned her B.S. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and her J.D. degree from the George Washington University's National Law Center.

Stephen B. Stern
is a partner in the law firm of Kagan Stern Marinello & Beard, LLC, where he practices in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation. Mr. Stern conducts training seminars and has been retained to advise on and/or conduct highly sensitive and complex investigations. He has successfully represented clients in federal and state courts; and before federal, state, and local administrative agencies, including the EEOC, Department of Labor, and Department of Justice. He is admitted to practice in the courts of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Mr. Stern graduated from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations and earned his J.D. degree from George Washington University Law School.

Mr. Berg is admitted to practice law in Maryland, District of Columbia, U.S. District Court of Maryland, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He earned his bachelor's degree from Stanford University and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
