James A. Walcheske
is a partner and co-founder with Walcheske & Luzi, LLC, where he focuses his practice in the area of employment law issues. He is admitted to practice before the State Bar of Wisconsin, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Walcheske earned his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and his J.D. degree from Marquette University.

Nola J. Hitchcock Cross
is the managing attorney with Cross Law Firm, S.C. She has built her career by standing up for those who stand up or stand out while trying to make a living. Ms. Hitchcock Cross navigates highly confidential career transitions for high profile C-suite executives, professionals and public officials. She litigates retaliation claims for those who exercise their rights or oppose illegal discrimination or fraud, and takes on issues of fraud, whistleblowing and retaliation through qui tam actions, False Claims Act and SEC "relator" statutes. Ms. Hitchcock Cross is skilled in the negotiation of non-compete agreements and partnership issues. She litigates employment discrimination, wage & hour, and wrongful and retaliatory discharge claims and works with community organizations, cooperatives, consultants and micro-businesses in start-up and on-going representation. In addition to litigation, Ms. Hitchcock Cross also focuses on counseling clients through pre-termination intervention, severance agreements, non-compete agreements and other restrictive covenants, employment contracts and key employee agreements, commission agreements and disputes, and job counseling, especially when "the handwriting is on the wall." Counseling and negotiation may include particular attention to reputation and career transition, restrictive covenants, deferred compensation, stock options and grants, special tax considerations for highly paid individuals, benefit transition, and consulting arrangements. She gives attention to issues of social media, press and internal announcements, and employment references. Ms. Hitchcock Cross has a concentration in whistleblower actions. She recently completed a Federal False Claims Act qui tam action that resolved for over $25 million, her third False Claims Act recovery in less than a year. Ms. Hitchcock Cross frequently pursues Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower actions and resolutions, either on a confidential settlement or a litigation basis. Federal contracts, as well as compliance with federal laws and regulations including FARs, DFARs, ITAR, FOCI, SEC, IRS, Medicare, and Dodd-Frank are primary areas of her legal practice. Ms. Hitchcock Cross has decades of experience representing labor unions in both the private and public sector, including in law enforcement, healthcare, construction trades, industrial employees, service employees, etc. She is a frequent speaker and writer. Ms. Hitchcock Cross earned her B.A. degree from Washington State University, Edward R. Murrow School of Journalism and her J.D. degree from University of Wisconsin Law School.

Zachary J. Flood
is a shareholder at Crivello, Nichols & Hall, S.C., where he advises clients on various employment-related legal issues and regularly defends governmental entities in civil rights litigation. His legal practice is primarily dedicated to counseling both public and private sector employers on a diverse range of issues involving employment discrimination, reasonable accommodations, wage and hour issues, workplace harassment prevention and investigations, employee leave administration and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) compliance, workplace safety, employee onboarding, discipline, and termination, and employee handbook and policy development. In addition, Mr. Flood assists employers in drafting and enforcing employment contracts, including confidentiality, non-compete, and severance agreements. As an experienced litigator, he frequently represents employers confronted with employee lawsuits in state, federal, and administrative forums. Mr. Flood has also presented at numerous seminars and symposiums concerning developments in employment law, strategies for employers in a variety of workplace contexts, and other compliance-related issues. In addition to his work in employment law, he also defends state, county, and local governmental entities and officials in state and federal legal actions involving alleged civil rights infringements and complex constitutional issues. Mr. Flood has successfully defended numerous counties, municipalities, public officials, employers, businesses, and insurers in matters involving allegations of infringement of civil rights. He graduated cum laude from Marquette University Law School, where he served as an associate editor on the Marquette Law Review and as the student director of Marquette’s Labor and Employment Law Program. Mr. Flood was also a three-time recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his strong academic performance. Prior to returning to Crivello, Nichols & Hall, S.C., he practiced labor and employment law at a large Milwaukee-based law firm.

Lynn M. Stathas
is a shareholder with the Madison office of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. She is an experienced problem solver who helps business owners and leaders strategically navigate complex labor, employment and workplace issues. Ms. Stathas is chair of Reinhart's Labor and Employment Practice and a shareholder in the firm's Employee Benefits and Litigation practices. She handles discrimination, harassment, noncompete and confidentiality agreements, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, whistleblower, wage and hour, ERISA and FMLA matters, workplace investigations and more. Ms. Stathas also defends class and collective actions. Her clients include businesses of all sizes. Ms. Stathas has a deep understanding of the rules and regulations that apply to a wide variety of businesses, including those specific to health care entities. She serves as Reinhart's Deputy General Counsel and has twice been the managing shareholder for the Madison office. Ms. Stathas is also the immediate past chair of the Wisconsin Union Association (the second woman in history elected to the position). She has a deep commitment to community affairs and serves on the executive committee of the Madison Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. Ms. Stathas speaks regularly on a variety of topics and conducts workplace training. She earned her B.A. degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison and her J.D. degree from University of Wisconsin Law School.

Matthew DeLange
is an associate with the Milwaukee office of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. He is a member of Reinhart's Labor and Employment and Litigation practices, where he thrives on new challenges and using his counseling, litigation and research skills to help clients solve complex problems and move forward to achieve their goals. Mr. DeLange assists clients in a wide range of employment-related matters, including employment agreements, non-competes, responding to employment claims, wage and hour issues, equal rights issues and contract disputes, and with complex litigation involving both single plaintiff litigation and class actions. He also conducts labor and employment analysis as part of mergers and acquisitions due diligence. Mr. DeLange also focuses his litigation practice on real estate issues, including construction litigation, and is proactive and logical in helping clients resolve disputes in a cost-effective manner and avoiding future disputes. He works to be especially responsive, ensuring that his clients feel heard and understood. In addition, Mr. DeLange is a member of the firm's Artificial Intelligence Team, where he counsels clients regarding employment-related AI matters, including hiring, terminations, evaluations, discrimination, human resources functions and services, and employee advancement and merit considerations, and litigation. He earned his BA degree from Brigham Young University and JD degree, with distinction, from University of Iowa College of Law.

Mark B. Hazelbaker
is an attorney with Weld Riley, S.C. He continues to emphasize representation of local governments, small businesses, and litigation. Mr. Hazelbaker began his career as legal counsel of the Wisconsin Counties Association. He served as personnel director/corporation counsel, and later as administrative coordinator for Manitowoc County. Mr. Hazelbaker has been in private practice since 1992, first with downtown Madison law firms, and then in his own firm since 1999. He has lectured many times on labor and employment law, land use law, and municipal law for various business and professional groups. Mr. Hazelbaker has also published law reviews and other articles. He is a member of the Dane County Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin (Litigation, Labor and Employment, and Government Lawyers Division sections). Mr. Hazelbaker earned his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
