Speaker bio
Andrew J. Mahon
is an attorney in Barley Snyder's employment and immigration practice groups with over a decade of experience. He concentrates his practice on immigration law, helping clients with a myriad of immigration related matters, including representing families and businesses seeking immigration benefits as well as defending individuals placed in removal proceedings. He has represented hundreds of clients before various agencies that are responsible for administering U.S. immigration laws, including the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of State. He also litigates immigration cases in federal court, filing petitions for review and submitting oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and preparing mandamus and habeas petitions before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He routinely advises attorneys from other areas of practice on immigration matters affecting their clients, often working with criminal defense counsel to structure guilty pleas to avoid future immigration consequences. Additionally, he has presented on immigration topics at several training courses for lawyers, paralegals and community members. He earned his B.A. degree from Fordham University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Widener University School of Law.

Megan Jackler
is an immigration attorney and litigator who brings her expertise gained through years of public service to partner with corporations and businesses in protecting their interests and achieving their objectives. A problem solver, she analyzes and approaches each matter with critical and "outside the box" thinking, collaboration, and compassion. Ms. Jackler seeks the best outcome for her clients, always working diligently and humbly to accomplish the mission of providing high quality, client-focused, and result-driven representation. She focuses her practice on litigation and immigration. Ms. Jackler's experience includes serving as the supervisory immigration judge of the New Orleans Immigration Court, where she balanced supervising judges and staff while managing her own docket with thousands of cases. She also served 12 years as a Navy Judge Advocate (JAG) attorney around the world, including Japan, Afghanistan, Virginia, Mississippi and Hawaii with experience in prosecution, defense, and in-house counsel. Ms. Jackler earned her B.A. degree from Columbia University and her J.D. degree from American University Washington College of Law.

Gunda J. Brost
is an immigration attorney in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She is originally from Oldenburg, North Germany. Ms. Brost holds a law degree from Hamline University School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She is a former model and a world languages teacher, with experience teaching English as a second language, German, French, and Latin. Ms. Brost is fluent in English, French and German, and Spanish. Besides her law degree, she holds a B.A. degree from Wartburg College and a master's degree from Middlebury College, Vermont. Ms. Brost was able to work with local immigration attorney Miryam Antunez. She was able to assist in representing the victims of the 2006 ICE raid in Marshalltown. Ms. Brost's resume touts victories in citizenship cases, green card acquisition cases, DACA cases, and asylum cases. She is the former chapter chair for Iowa, Nebraska, AILA and has served on the Board of Governors of AILA National.

Arturo Hernandez, III
is an attorney with McMahon Berger, where he represents the interest of management in all areas of labor and employment law, including litigation before state and federal courts, as well as various administrative agencies, client counseling, and document preparation and review. Mr. Hernandez handles all facets of employment law including defending employment discrimination and retaliation claims under Title VII, including sex and gender discrimination claims; Americans with Disabilities Act; Family Medical Leave Act; Missouri Human Rights Act; Section 287.780 of the Missouri Workers' Compensation Act; and wage and hour disputes, including collective and class actions. He also investigates and responds on behalf of management to charges filed with the EEOC and MCHR. Mr. Hernandez regularly advises employers on business immigration matters such as Form I-9 compliance, best practices/compliance review, and preparing and filing business immigration petitions with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of employers. His experience prior to joining McMahon Berger includes successfully running his own litigation law firm, as well as serving as the chief legal officer for the Cole County Juvenile Office. Mr. Hernandez has taught trial practice, evidence, and business law as an adjunct professor at Columbia College in Jefferson City and has served as a presenter for various continuing legal education programs on behalf of The Missouri Bar. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Texas A&M University. Mr. Hernandez is a member of The Missouri Bar and The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He is admitted to practice in Missouri.

Shane C. Sidebottom
is a partner with the law firm of Zeigler & Schneider P.S.C. He is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Ohio and is a member of the firm's litigation practice group. Mr. Sidebottom maintains a broad general practice which includes U.S. Immigration and Naturalization, labor and employment law, family law, general litigation, and business litigation. He is also an accredited mediator, and mediates civil and family law cases. Mr. Sidebottom has been listed annually as a Kentucky Super Lawyer since 2013. In 2009, the Kentucky Supreme Court appointed him as the Sixth Judicial District Representative of the CLE Commission, where he served two terms (2009-2015). Mr. Sidebottom is a past president of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association (NKBA) and chaired the NKBA's Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee for 15 years. He earned his B.S. degree from Northern Kentucky University and his J.D. degree from the NKU Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1999.
