Speaker bio
Seth Gardenswartz
is a partner with Blackgarden Law. He began his career in his family's sporting goods business, an 80-year multi-generational enterprise that ultimately expanded from Colorado to New Mexico and Texas. When the business was sold in 1995, Mr. Gardenswartz brought his experience and passion for technology and marketing to the practice of law. During law school, he wrote for SMU Law's International Journal and his paper, The Risk of Loss in Electronic Transactions, was published in the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology. Mr. Gardenswartz graduated, cum laude, from SMU Law School. His specialties include trademarks, craft breweries, contracts, payment systems, e-commerce, digital media and general business management. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Gardenswartz is co-developer of a tech-flex office building in downtown Albuquerque and co-owner of Surefi, an ad-tech company that combines proximity marketing with media targeting for mid-sized and regional brands in the craft beverage industry. He has represented and advised entrepreneurs on branding-related legal issues for over 15 years.
Speaker bio
Kellen M. Shearin
is an attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll and Rooney, bringing a wealth of experience in employment law and litigation. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, he has a proven track record of representing high-profile clients, including Fortune 500 companies, in both state and federal courts. Mr. Shearin's expertise extends to handling complex cases before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). He is adept at counseling clients on compliance with federal and state laws, particularly in areas such as handbook policies, pay practices, and the use of artificial intelligence in employment decisions. Mr. Shearin's meticulous approach to pre-trial litigation and his ability to draft critical employment documents make him a valuable asset to the firm. He earned his B.S. degree from Arizona State University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Law Review and held leadership roles in various student organizations. Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Shearin is actively involved in community service, serving as president of the Board of Directors for the Religious Coalition for Community Revival. He is admitted to practice in District of Columbia, Maryland, West Virginia, with North Carolina license pending.

Luke Rushing
is an attorney with Huth Reynolds LLP and is admitted to practice in New York and California. He has extensive experience in commercial litigation across a wide variety of industries. Mr. Rushing has advised numerous figures in the entertainment industry on copyright and trademark matters. He has also represented landlords and tenants in COVID-19 related lease litigations. Mr. Rushing has appeared before numerous municipal agencies and courts to defend alleged code violations on behalf of business owners in New York City; advised Fortune 500 clients in connection with landmark maritime claims; and represented a bank in connection with Section 14 (a) disclosure litigation. Mr. Rushing is the co-chair of the ABA Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Clark University; and his J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law.
