is an attorney at Clark Hill PLC. He provides ongoing representation for design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, and owners in a wide range of public and private projects involving issues like contract negotiation, contract interpretation, construction change directives, damages for delay, defective construction, design errors, differing site conditions, and owner interference. Mr. Degenhardt is involved in drafting and negotiating agreements between owners and general contractors, or general contractors and their subcontractors. He also documents insurance and bonding arrangements to secure performance of work and to protect clients against property damage or personal injury claims. Mr. Degenhardt assists owners and developers in deciding which project delivery approach best suits their project and then help them draft requests for bids to identify a contractor. For certain public projects, he may be called on to file a bid protest. Mr. Degenhardt earned his B.A. degree from Michigan State University and his J.D. degree from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
