Speaker bio
Brian Chase
is a digital forensic consultant and expert witness, as well as a licensed attorney. He has tried cases as a lawyer, testified over 30 times as an expert witness, and teaches at the University of Arizona Law School. Mr. Chase is the managing director of digital forensics with ArcherHall, a national digital forensics and eDiscovery vendor. He has a diverse education and work background. Mr. Chase spent years working as a network administrator for the University of Arizona. He has a Management and Information Systems degree from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, a top-ranked program in the country. From there, Mr. Chase went on to earn a law degree, also from the University of Arizona. He has tried cases at the misdemeanor and felony level, as well as testified as an expert in both state and federal court. Mr. Chase has worked on everything from small misdemeanor offenses to first-degree murder and wrongful death matters. He has presented at numerous CLEs and conferences on the topic of digital forensics. Mr. Chase had the top-ranked CLE program for LawLine in 2021, and is frequently sought after as a conference presenter.

Daniel M. Schiavetta
is of counsel at Russo & Gould LLP, who specializes in nursing home and adult residential facility defense and has wide experience in appellate and insurance coverage litigation. He has prosecuted rescission, declaratory judgment and interpleader actions in state and federal court on behalf of various insurers; and has tried cases involving medical malpractice and premises liability. Mr. Schiavetta gives presentations to nursing homes as to charting and litigation issues and is responsible for two changes in case law. He earned his B.A. degree from State University of New York and his J.D. degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law. Mr. Schiavetta is admitted to New York and New Jersey federal courts, and Second Circuit Court of Appeals and Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Westchester County Bar Association, New Rochelle Bar Association and Defense Research Institute. His recent book, The Supreme Court for Short Attention Spans, is available on Amazon.

Marlon A. Primes
is a partner in the Cleveland office of Brennan, Manna & Diamond, LLC. He is a distinguished former assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, with over 30 years of experience. Mr. Primes has transitioned to serve as co-chair of BMD's business and tort litigation practice, and represents companies across the U.S. in high-stakes litigation. He has handled a wide variety of complex civil litigation in state, federal and appellate courts, including jury trials and appellate actions. Mr. Primes earned his B.S. degree from Ohio University and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Kimberly Jones Penepacker
is a partner with Aulsbrook Law Firm, where she is a civil litigator practicing in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation, premises liability, and wrongful death. Ms. Jones Penepacker is admitted to practice in Texas; Fifth Circuit Court of the United States; U.S. District Court Northern, Eastern and Southern districts of Texas; U.S. District Court District of Colorado; U.S. District Court District of New Mexico; and U.S. District Court Western District of Oklahoma. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; American Association for Justice; Texas Young Lawyers Association; Arlington Board Association (board member); Dallas Trial Lawyers Association; and Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association. Ms. Jones Penepacker earned her B.A. degree form Baylor University and her J.D. degree from Baylor University School of Law.

Michael M. Essmyer, Sr.
is a shareholder in the Essmyer Law Firm in Houston, Texas, practicing in federal criminal defense, personal injury law and commercial litigation. He has served as a briefing attorney for the Texas Supreme Court, Judge Pope; and has lectured at various seminars on topics relating to evidence, automobile injury cases, personal injury, civil clients with parallel criminal problems, criminal procedure, and the preservation of evidence and privileges. Mr. Essmyer earned his B.S. degree from Texas A&M University and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from South Texas College of Law. He is a member of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; American Association for Justice; Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association; Harris County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association; Federal, Houston and American bar associations; and State Bar of Texas.

Holland Don DeKeyzer
is an accomplished trial lawyer and founder of DeKeyzer Law, PLLC, based in Houston, Texas. Since launching his firm in 2014, he has served as lead counsel in over 200 civil cases and more than 100 criminal cases, representing clients in matters ranging from personal injury and wrongful death to business disputes. He has taken three jury trials and two bench trials to verdict, conducted over 100 depositions, and led more than 60 mediations. Mr. DeKeyzer manages all aspects of his firm, including legal strategy, operations, and client relations. Prior to practicing law, he worked as a financial accountant at Hein and Associates, where he performed audits and financial analyses for public and private companies. A former Certified Public Accountant, Mr. DeKeyzer holds a J.D. from South Texas College of Law, where he earned academic scholarships and Dean’s List honors, and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Sam Houston State University. His unique combination of legal acumen and financial insight enables him to serve clients with precision and strategic depth.
