Christopher E. Denney
, MPA, MST, CPA, CGMA, ABV, CVA, CM & AA, CFF, CEPA, IFRS, is the managing member with Silvermark CPAs & Advisors, where he has more than 20 years of consulting experience. He has represented three Big 4 accounting firms, some in tax leadership roles, and a Fortune 500 Company as a tax officer. Mr. Denney's strengths are in identifying tax planning opportunities and areas of tax risk, and some of his tax research has been nationally published. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the ABV Section; the Indiana CPA Society; the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; and the Ball State University Accounting Department Executive Advisory Council. Mr. Denney earned his B.S. degree, in accounting, from Ball State University and both of his M.S. degrees, in taxation and professional accountancy, from Indiana University.

Matthew E. Rappaport
chairs Falcon Rappaport & Berkman LLP's taxation and private client groups. He concentrates his practice in taxation as it relates to real estate, closely held businesses, private equity funds, family offices, and trusts and estates. Mr. Rappaport advises clients regarding tax planning, structuring and compliance for commercial real estate projects, all stages of the business life cycle, generational wealth transfer, family business succession, and executive compensation. He also collaborates with other attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, bankers, and insurance professionals when they encounter matters requiring a threshold level of tax law expertise. Mr. Rappaport earned his J.D. degree and his Master of Laws in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member and admitted to practice in the state of New York and the U.S. Tax Court.

Richard C. Mills
is an experienced attorney who specializes in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and charitable giving. For more than 15 years, he has helped families, businesses, and charitable foundations establish legally and financially secure futures. As a leader of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan, Mr. Mills helped draft Michigan's trust decanting, self-settled asset protection trust, and divided and directed trusteeship legislation. As an American Bar Association leader, he's helped draft comments to the U.S. Treasury Department on proposed regulations related to donor-advised funds and met with its Office of Tax Policy to discuss important issues on behalf of charitable planning attorneys and their clients. Mr. Mills earned his undergrad from Aquinas College, his M.B.A. degree from The University of Detroit Mercy and his J.D. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the state of Michigan.

Sonya Murphy
has served as an attorney advisor at the U.S. Small Business Administration - Office of Disaster Assistance and as a contract advisor for the Internal Revenue Service. She presently maintains a solo transactional practice, which focuses on business law and estate planning. Ms. Murphy earned her bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University - College of Business and her J.D. degree from Charlotte School of Law, where she obtained a Leadership Excellence Certification. She is admitted to practice law in Tennessee.

Sandra D. Mertens
is a partner in the law firm of Gensburg, Calandriello & Kanter, P.C., where she is known for her diverse skill set, practicing in the areas of federal and state tax controversy and consulting, offshore account disclosures, estate planning, probate, estate and trust administration, general business law, and commercial litigation. Ms. Mertens has negotiated many tax resolutions with the IRS and Illinois Department of Revenue, reducing her clients' overall tax liabilities and helping them lower their monthly payment. Since 2008, she has served as a monthly contributor to Debits and Credits, a newsletter published by the Independent Accountants Association of Illinois. Ms. Mertens is also a member of the CBA's State and Local Tax Committee, and has lectured and prepared seminar materials for accountant and attorney education on a variety of topics, including offers in compromise, trust fund recovery penalties, IRS Voluntary Classification Settlement Program for workers, foreign reporting requirements, and the IRS' Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program and compliance procedures. In addition, she assists large and small businesses with all stages of their business, from formation of an entity to contracts to employee issues, and dissolution. Ms. Mertens earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Trinity International University and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. She is admitted to the Illinois State Bar Association, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, United States Bankruptcy Court and United States Tax Court. Ms. Mertens has also been admitted pro hac vice in the District Court for the District of Columbia and New York State Court.
