Whitney M. Wilson
, a Virginia accredited attorney, started Twilight Legal Consulting ("TLC") in 2017 to help other attorneys find success in the estate planning and elder law fields. She co-owned an estate planning and elder law firm of her own for 15 years. Ms. Wilson's passion is ensuring clients preserve their quality of life while preserving a financial legacy for the next generation. While in private practice, she also taught and wrote on estate, trust, probate, special needs, and elder law topics. Ms. Wilson eventually realized three things, first that she enjoyed teaching and writing quite a bit; second, that there is a tremendous need for more attorneys in these areas; and third, that she can impact more lives by helping like-minded attorneys join the field. This realization compelled her to found TLC and shift her career away from a traditional private practice. Ms. Wilson is a 2018 AILC "10 Best Elder Law Attorney," a 2016 "Best of Louisville" attorney, a Kentucky Bar Association "Distinguished Lawyer" nominee, and the 2014-2015 chairperson of the Elder Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association. She is a published author, contributing to Kentucky Elder Law, a book published by Thompson Reuters as part of its Kentucky Practice Series. Kentucky Elder Law is the textbook for the elder law curriculum at the Louis D. Brandeis College of Law at the University of Louisville. Ms. Wilson also contributed to the Elder Law in Kentucky Handbook, published by the University of Kentucky Office of Continuing Legal Education. And her article, "Paying for Long-Term Care Without Medicaid", co-authored with her former law partner, Eileen Walsh, has been published several times, including by the American Bar Association. She is a recurring faculty member, presenter, and guest lecturer at legal seminars, webinars, and universities across the nation.
