Speaker bio
Shawn Spalding
is a member at Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC. He is highly skilled in zoning matters, including changes to district development plans, variances, conditional use permits, waivers, and other administrative approvals. Additionally, Mr. Spalding has appeared on behalf of clients before zoning authorities in multiple counties in Kentucky on a variety of real estate classes, including retail, educational, and residential. Prior to joining Stoll Keenon Ogden, he worked in private practice at a large regional law firm, where he assisted institutional lending clients in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loan originations and warehouse line financing. Mr. Spalding also served as in-house counsel for a regional real estate firm, using his skills to provide efficient legal representation that drove value for his clients. He works to negotiate and obtain special and conditional use zoning approvals for clients ahead of major commercial construction projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments. Mr. Spalding and SKO's team of attorneys also work directly with development consultants, engineers, and surveyors and appear on behalf of clients for zoning-related hearings. He earned his B.S. degree from University of Louisville and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.

Peter L. Ostermiller
is a sole practitioner concentrating in legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. In 1980 he obtained his license to practice law in Kentucky. His legal ethics and professional responsibility law practice began in the mid -1980s and, since the mid-1990s has been his practice concentration. He represents attorneys in disciplinary and reinstatement proceedings, judges in judicial ethics matters, and bar exam applicants. Mr. Ostermiller has also represented parties in attorney's fee dispute proceedings, and attorneys in legal proceedings in which sanctions have been sought against the attorney. He has represented parties in attorney disqualification proceedings and counseled lawyers and law firms in their respective rights, responsibilities and duties to other attorneys and their clients. He also serves as an expert witness at the state and federal level regarding legal ethics and professional responsibility matters. Mr. Ostermiller is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association and Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. Mr. Ostermiller earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Louisville.

David H. Steele
is an attorney at Ziegler & Schneider P.S.C. He practices with the firm's real estate law group, and also represents clients in the areas of banking, small business, estate planning, and probate matters throughout Kentucky and Ohio. Specifically, Mr. Steele sets up new businesses for clients and gets them registered with the appropriate state authorities. Also, he represents builders and developers of residential real estate ventures in both Kentucky and Ohio, which include new subdivisions, as well as the sale and purchase of commercial properties in Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and California. Mr. Steele has represented clients in probate cases throughout Hamilton, Clermont and Butler counties in Ohio, and throughout Kentucky, helping to guide families through very difficult times. As part of his practice, he has also represented several banks regarding real estate matters both in Kentucky and Ohio, including the creation of closing documents, purchase agreements, and transfer documents, as well as title exams and opinions for both residential and commercial properties. Mr. Steele earned his J.D degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

Andrew Videkovich
is current planning manager with the Planning and Development Services of Kenton County (PDS), where he analyzes economic, environmental, social, and physical factors affecting land use decisions; assists in the preparation and update of comprehensive plans; and manages zoning code updates. Mr. Videkovich has worked as a planner in the public sector for twenty years, and has worked extensively with the public, planning commissions, and elected officials. Prior to joining PDS, he was a land use planner for the St. Joseph County Area Planning Commission in South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Videkovich earned his Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from the University of Cincinnati.
