Speaker bio
Adam J. Sedia
is an attorney with the law firm of Johnson & Bell Ltd., where he concentrates his practice in all areas of civil litigation, with a special focus on appellate work. Mr. Sedia has litigated dozens of cases before the Indiana Appellate Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In addition, he has jury trial experience and has represented individuals and businesses in a wide variety of cases in state and federal courts, as plaintiffs and as defendants. He has had scholarly articles published on a variety of subjects, from patents to insurance coverage, in various law journals. Mr. Sedia is a member of the Lake County Bar Association (past president) and the Indiana State Bar Association. He earned his B.S. degree and B.A. degree, with distinction, from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law.

David C. Jensen
is a partner in the law office of Eichhorn & Eichhorn, LLP, where he practices in the areas of litigation, both trial and appellate, with special emphases on professional liability and commercial litigation. Mr. Jensen is a member of the Lake County, Indiana State, Illinois State and American bar associations; and a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. He earned his B.A. degree from DePauw University and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan.

Kathleen M. Erickson
is a partner in the Merrillville office of the law firm of Cassiday Schade LLP. She focuses her practice on a wide range of civil litigation defense and has extensive experience handling medical malpractice and healthcare defense matters. Ms. Erickson works with her clients through all phases of litigation, including investigation, motion practice, written and oral discovery, and trial. She represents hospitals and individual health care providers before medical review panels, in court and on appeal. Ms. Erickson earned her B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and her J.D. degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. She is a member of the Lake County Indiana Bar Association.

Linda L. Chezem
serves of counsel at Foley Peden & Wisco, P.A. She has served on Lawrence County Court, Lawrence Circuit Court and the Indiana Court of Appeals. After 22 years, Ms. Chezem resigned from the Indiana Court of Appeals to become the department head and a professor of 4-H Youth Development in the College of Agriculture, Purdue University. She served as a special assistant to the director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Ms. Chezem now holds an appointment as a professor emerita of Youth Development and Agricultural Education, Purdue University and an adjunct professor appointment at the Indiana University School of Medicine Alcohol Research Center. She is a past chair of the Morgan County, Indiana Board of Health and co-author of the first public health law bench book in the United States. Ms. Chezem earned her B.S. degree from Indiana State University and her J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law.
