Speaker bio
Deana Mercer
is a full professor with tenure at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences School of Medicine - Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation. She earned her B.S. degree in biochemistry and chemistry from New Mexico State University, and her Master's degree in Clinical Research and from the University of New Mexico. After completion of her M.D. degree, Dr. Mercer pursued her residency in Orthopaedics at UNMH. She then received fellowship training at the University of Washington in Seattle in shoulder and elbow surgery, followed by a second fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at UNMH. Her research interests include pathology of the shoulder, elbow and hand, upper extremity trauma, nerve reconstruction and biomechanical research addressing orthopaedic musculoskeletal problems including acquired pathologies and trauma; she works closely with medical students, orthopaedic trainees and colleagues with similar interests, and engineering groups in her efforts. Dr. Mercer has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers and various other publications, she is active in teaching, traveling both nationally and internationally for courses/lectures. She is currently certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and belongs to several professional societies, including Emerging Leaders Program with the American Orthopedic Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (candidate member), American Society for Surgery of the Hand , American Medical Association and Alpha Omega Alpha.

Eric D. Dixon
is a graduate of St. Louis University Law School, and has practiced law in the state of New Mexico since 1985 and Texas since 1988. He has served on various local and state boards over the years. Mr. Dixon has several publications to his credit along with op-ed pieces. He has taught law-related subjects at various universities and colleges in the eastern New Mexico region. Mr. Dixon has argued cases in the Federal Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, New Mexico Supreme Court, New Mexico Court of Appeals and the Texas Court of Appeals in Amarillo, Texas. He has litigated both civil and criminal jury trials to verdicts in excess of one hundred cases. Mr. Dixon has been involved in litigation that has made national and international news. He has been involved in numerous charitable activities over the years, including leadership roles in both local and state boards and committees.

Richard H. Cravens, IV
is an attorney with Cravens Law LLC. His practice centers around personal injury, real estate, and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Cravens earned his J.D. degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New Mexico.

Christopher D. Lee
is a sole practitioner in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he dedicates his practice exclusively to representing people who have been harmed or injured through the negligence and misconduct of others. Mr. Lee has recovered millions of dollars for his clients, handling all types of personal injury and insurance claims, including wrongful death, automobile accidents, medical and legal malpractice, trip and fall/slip and fall, insurance bad faith, motorcycle accident, dog bites and dog attacks, and products liability. He also has successfully recovered punitive damages from drunk and distracted drivers, as well as recovered uninsured motorist (UM) benefits for victims of violence or homicide where motor vehicles are involved. Me. Lee has tried cases to juries in state and federal court, as well as represented clients in state and federal appellate court. He graduated with his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame, his M.A. degree from the University of Chicago, and he earned his J.D. degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

is an attorney with The Law Office of W. Shane Jennings. His practice centers around Criminal Defense and Personal Injury. Mr. Jennings earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Jennings is admitted to practice in New Mexico and the United States District Court of New Mexico. Mr. Jennings is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, litigation section of the State Bar of Texas, and part of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
