Speaker bio
John Whitbeck
is the founder and majority shareholder with Whitbeck Bennett in Leesburg, Virginia. He focuses his practice on family law, criminal law, mental health law, civil litigation and many other areas. Mr. Whitbeck has also been certified as an expert witness in litigation. He is an adjunct professor of law at George Mason University Law School, teaching mental illness law. Mr. Whitbeck is the director of the George Mason University Law and Mental Illness Clinic. He has served as substitute judge in Virginia District Courts, hearing civil and criminal matters including family law cases. Mr. Whitbeck also served as a special justice for civil commitment hearings in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, which requires him to sit as a judge for hearings to commit mentally ill individuals to psychiatric treatment. He has also served as a special prosecutor in the Loudoun County General District Courts. Mr. Whitbeck earned his A.B. degree from Occidental College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from George Mason University-Antonin Scalia Law School.

Philip A. Greenberg
has provided skilled and highly personalized representation to his clients for more than 45 years. During this time, his firm has helped clients with family law and business matters in a wide range of civil litigation. Mr. Greenberg judges multiple rounds, including the finals, of the national trial competition in Virginia. He has co-authored a book titled DivorceInsights, which was published and is being sold by Amazon Books. Mr. Greenberg is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, both State and Federal courts, as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He earned his J.D. degree from New York University School of Law and his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.

Hon. Maurice E. Muir
is a New York State Supreme Court Justice. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from Boston University and a Juris Doctor Degree from Suffolk University School of Law. He is a licensed to practice law before the New York State Bar Association, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar and the United States District Court Bar. Prior to being elected to the bench, Justice Muir practiced law in both the private and public sectors. In 2017, Justice Muir was elected to the New York City Civil Court, where he presides over numerous cases, which include no-fault litigation, contact disputes, personal injury, etc. Two year later, he was elected to the New York State Supreme Court, where presides over all state claim, which include, but not limited to, labor law, medical malpractice, personal injury, foreclosure actions, etc. Moreover, Justice Muir has lectured various areas of the law (e.g., evidence, foreclosure preventions, civil litigation, etc.).
