Kevin M. Madden
is the founding member of the Law Offices of Kevin Michael Madden, P.L.L.C., where he practices in the areas of civil trial practice, commercial litigation, business litigation, construction law, and employment law. He is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas and Eastern District Court of Texas. Mr. Madden was the articles editor for the Houston Journal of International Law. He was the judicial intern to the Honorable David Hittner, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Mr. Madden was a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph James "Tad" Halbach, Jr., 333rd District Court, Harris County, Texas. He is a member of the Houston Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Texas Young Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America and Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, his B.S. degree from the University of Houston and his J.D. degree from the University of Houston Law Center.

J. Daniel Bariault
is the sole practitioner with Business Advocate Law PLLC, where he has more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of corporate and business law, with particular emphasis in tax, securities, antitrust and regulated industries. Mr. Bariault has worked with many high-tech startups in all aspects of business formation, corporate governance and business strategy. He represents marijuana producers, processors and retailers, investors and service companies supporting the emerging marijuana industry in the state of Washington. Mr. Bariault has been a staunch supporter of marijuana legalization, and his practice is limited almost exclusively to the cannabis and hemp industry. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at three universities teaching graduate business courses in finance, business development, securities and portfolio analysis, valuation analysis, and international marketing and management. Mr. Bariault is a member of the Washington State Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree from Washington State University, his M.B.A. from the University of Puget Sound, his Masters in international management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and his J.D. degree from the University of Puget Sound. Mr. Bariault also holds a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from MIT.

Michael J. Gorby
is a founder and partner with Gorby Peters & Associates, LLC. He is a nationally recognized leader in complex corporate disputes, professional negligence cases, and liability issues that arise for property owners and managers; such as hotel chains, restaurants, shopping centers, apartment complexes, office buildings and other public venues. Since 1998, Mr. Gorby has served as the program chair for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia (an affiliate of the University of Georgia), on the topic of premises liability. He is also the author of a popular legal treatise, Premises Liability in Georgia, which is published by Thomson Reuters/West, and which is now in its third edition. Mr. Gorby serves as an instructor/lecturer for Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center (GTPAC) in the area of procuring government contracts, and is also a registered mediator. He earned his B.A. degree from Georgia State University and his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Barbara Jean Steadman
is an assistant professor of law at the Charleston School of Law. She teaches Contracts I and II, Sales, Business Associations, Drafting Preliminary Agreements, Litigating a Transaction and Practical International Business Transactions. Prior to joining Charleston School of Law, Ms. Steadman worked and lived in Italy for 20 years. She was of counsel at the Italian law firm C-Lex Studio Legale, specialized in cross-border commercial transactions, and collaborated with many important Italian law firms, banks, energy, pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies on all aspects of international commercial contracts throughout her career. Ms. Steadman received her Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law and her Bachelors of Science in political science and sociology from James Madison University. Prior to law school, she worked as a social worker. Ms. Steadman is the author of Drafting Legal Documents in Plain English: Guida Pratica alla redazione di documenti legali in inglese, and Common Law Contract Law, A Practical Guide for the Civil Law Lawyer.

Erik Halverson
is the managing attorney with Halverson Law Group, a business counsel firm for transaction and litigation matters. He has a niche focus in the cannabis industry, representing many of the largest retail and producers in the state of Washington. Mr. Halverson has been an active leader in groundbreaking cannabis related projects, speaking engagements and industry shaping. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Washington and his J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law.

Ryan Lee
is an associate attorney at Halverson Law, PLLC, Ryan represents clients in a variety of transactional matters. He focuses on Washington state marijuana law, where he advises licensed marijuana producers, processors, and retailers, along with those interested in joining the industry. The cannabis industry in Washington is highly regulated. Ryan helps clients structure their business entities, contracts, and partnerships to ensure compliance with Washington’s complicated regulatory scheme. Prior to joining Halverson Law, Ryan was an attorney at a Seattle based law firm specializing in business transactions, marijuana law, and securities regulations, where he represented business clients in marijuana compliance, multimillion dollar mergers and acauisitions, and a wide array of business transactions. Ryan is a Seattle native that pursued his higher education in Oregon. After graduating from law school, he returned home to practice law.
