Melinda Garcia
is a managing shareholder in the firm of Garcia & Gurney, where she has practiced in the areas of business and employment law since 2000. She regularly counsels companies in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, employment, executive compensation, intellectual property, international business transactions, formations, and commercial real estate transactions. Ms. Garcia has taught continuing legal education courses on the formation, taxation and operation of limited liability companies and limited liability partnerships in California. She has educated business owners all over California through presentations on business law and employment issues. Ms. Garcia understands the legal and practical challenges small businesses face, because she has first-hand knowledge in running a small business. In 2011, she received the Woman Entrepreneur Award Winner in the Professional category from the Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment. In 2008, Ms. Garcia was named one of three finalists in the Hispanic Business Magazine Annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for Entrepreneurial Excellence in the Latina Entrepreneur category. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and her J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. Ms. Garcia is a member of the State Bar of California (Employment, and Business sections), Santa Clara and Eastern Alameda bar associations, and prestigious Alliance of CEOs.

Christopher E. Nichols
is an attorney with Webb Law Group, APC. He represents employers and employees involved in class action lawsuits, breach of contract disputes, and various other business-related matters. Additionally, Mr. Nichols has experience in representing both employees and businesses in class action lawsuits, in both CLRA (Consumer), and wage and hour claims. He is experienced in all phases of civil litigation, including depositions and evidentiary hearings, and has acted as lead trial counsel in numerous matters. Mr. Nichols earned his B.A. degree from the University of San Diego and his J.D. degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States District Courts for the Central and Eastern districts of California. Mr. Nichols is a member of the American, San Diego and Fresno County bar associations.

Richard A. Weintraub
is the owner of Weintraub Law Group PC, where he focuses his practice in the formation of business entities; venture capital transactions; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; public and private offerings; and debt financing. Mr. Weintraub has also been an instructor of tax and securities law courses at UCLA, University of California San Diego, and the University of San Diego. He has instructed a course entitled “Securities Law Implications for the Emerging Growth Business” at UCSD. Mr. Weintraub is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Claims Court, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of California Los Angeles and J.D. degree from Loyola Marymount University.

Shane Read
, CPA/ABV, CFE with Shane Read CPA Accountancy, specializes in business valuation and litigation support relating to financial issues. His experience encompasses a wide range of issues in family law and civil litigation, including business appraisals, tracing of separate property, income available for support, damage analysis, and uncovering unreported income and hidden assets. Mr. Read graduated with a M.S. degree in accounting from the University of Tampa and has been working in public accounting since 2007. While in Tampa, he gained three years of experience in external audit and income tax preparation. Mr. Read is licensed as a certified public accountant by the state of California. He has served as a court appointed expert under Evidence Code 730. Mr. Read is a certified fraud examiner, and has been given the title of accredited business valuator by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He appreciates the growth opportunities and challenges that business valuation and litigation support afford.

Joseph W. Scalia
is a sole practitioner, and has been practicing law since 1976. He currently maintains his office in Roseville, California, where he focuses in the areas of business law, construction law, employment law, sports and entertainment law, as well as real estate litigation. Mr. Scalia has been a licensed real estate broker in the state of California since 1982. He serves as a settlement judge pro tem for the Sacramento Superior Court, and as an arbitrator with the Sacramento County Judicial Arbitration Association. Mr. Scalia has also served as a member on the panel of arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and as a mediator in alternative dispute resolutions for El Dorado County Superior Court. He earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. He recently co-wrote a new CEB publication entitled "Neighbor Disputes-Law and Litigation," and recently published a children’s book entitled “The Adventures of Amelia Loggerhead.” Mr. Scalia is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.

Neal B. Jannol
is a sole practitioner in Los Angeles at the Law Office of Neal B. Jannol. He has been an attorney for more than 20 years, and concentrates his practice on sophisticated estate and tax planning for individual clients, the representation of individual and corporate fiduciaries, and the administration of estates and trusts. Mr. Jannol's experience includes drafting revocable and irrevocable trusts, business succession planning, premarital planning, charitable gift planning, and all aspects of estate administration and probate procedures. He is a member of the State Bar of California. Mr. Jannol earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of California at Los Angeles and his J.D. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law.
