Speaker bio
Paul D. Friedman
is chief litigation and general counsel with Brown, Crowell & Friedman, PLLC d/b/a Accident Law Group. He practices in the areas of medical malpractice, significant personal injury and ethics matters. Dr. Friedman is admitted to practice in Arizona, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is board-certified by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification in civil pretrial practice advocacy and civil trial advocacy (NBOTA). Dr. Friedman has been certified in injury and wrongful death litigation by the State Bar of Arizona since 1997. He is an associate with the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Dr. Friedman is also a medical malpractice diplomate with the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Examiners®, where he developed the curriculum for the Certified Forensic Consulting® Certification Course and authored the Certified Forensic Consultant Body of Knowledge by CRC Press. Dr. Friedman graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona. He earned his law degree from California Western School of Law, his master's degree in bioethics from Midwestern University/Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and his doctorate from LaCrosse University. Dr. Friedman was an adjunct professor of medical and research ethics at Midwestern University and the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he instructed health care providers and students in the medical field. He is currently an adjunct professor with the Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law at Arizona State University.

Joshua C. Offenhartz
is an associate with Koeller Nebeker Carlson Haluck LLP in the Phoenix office. He is a business attorney who represents clients in the finance, medical, construction, real estate and culinary industries. Mr. Offenhartz has significant experience managing all phases of litigation, including preliminary investigations, discovery, depositions, settlement negotiations, mediation, motions for summary judgment, trial and appeals. Additionally, he serves as outside counsel for several small, medium and growing businesses that need day-to-day legal advice for their growing companies. Mr. Offenhartz is a member of Madison School District’s Financial Advisory Board and a board member of the Desert States Region at Jewish National Fund. He supports the Phoenix Art Museum as a member of the Men’s Art Council, and helps others by volunteering with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Arizona, Saint Mary’s Food Bank and the Wounded Warrior Project. Mr. Offenhartz earned his B.S. degree in public administration from the University of Arizona, and his master’s and J.D. degrees from Arizona State University. He is licensed to practice law in Arizona; Southern District Court, District of Arizona; and Southern Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

Shannon Clark
is a shareholder with the firm Gallagher & Kennedy. He is a tireless advocate for victims of negligent and wrongful conduct throughout Arizona and in California, Florida, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Wyoming. Mr. Clark has handled virtually all varieties of personal injury cases, including product liability, motor vehicle accidents, dram shop actions, premises liability, elder abuse, medical malpractice, commercial trucking, sexual assault, medical device, pharmaceutical, and insurance bad faith. Throughout his career, his efforts have extended beyond the intricacies of any given lawsuit to champion consumer safety issues for greater social impact. Mr. Clark's passion for justice and dedication to defending injured or wronged individuals has helped force manufacturers to recall or modify the design of dangerous products. He earned his B.A. degree from Cornell University and his J.D. degree from Duke University. Mr. Clark is a firm representative with Lawyers Associated Worldwide and a member of the State Bar of Arizona, The American Association for Justice, Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness, Diversity Law Institute, and Arizona’s Finest Lawyers. He is admitted to practice in Arizona, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
