Ashley M. Ulbricht
is of counsel with Taft in the firm's Indianapolis office. She focuses her municipal practice in litigation with a concentration on redevelopment, real estate, utility and telecommunications, zoning and planning, land use, construction project management, music and movie licensing, code enforcement litigation, public safety discipline, contract negotiation, and employment law. Prior to joining Taft, Ms. Ulbricht served as city attorney for the City of Carmel, Indiana and general counsel to the Carmel Redevelopment Commission. She earned her B.S. degree from Saint Mary's College, University of Notre Dame and her J.D. degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law. Ms. Ulbricht is a member of the Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association, where she has previously served as a member of the Litigation Committee and AIM Utilities Policy Committee. She is also a member of the International Municipal Lawyers Association and serves as the Indiana State Chair.

Norman R. Newman
is senior counsel in the Indianapolis office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, practicing within the firm's real estate practice group. He is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Mr. Newman earned his J.D. degree, with distinction, from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law and is now an adjunct professor there.

Briane M. House
is an attorney at Pritzke & Davis. His practice areas include civil litigation with a concentration in real estate transactions/planning/zoning, mediation/arbitration, business/corporate counseling, commercial litigation, and appellate practice. Mr. House currently serves as the chairman of the Board of Directors of Quality Connection, a labor management partnership representing more than 100 union NECA electrical contractors and 2500 IBEW members. He is the former board chair of the Indianapolis Local Public Improvement Bond Bank. Mr. House earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Wabash College; and his J.D. degree from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law.

Jeffrey A. Abrams
is a partner in the law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, in the firm's real estate & environmental practice group. He represents banks and lending institutions, developers, landlords, tenants, builders, contractors, and all types of business owners. Mr. Abrams has represented companies and lenders in documenting different types of transactions, including acquisition and development of land, shopping centers, office and industrial buildings, acquisition of businesses, development loans, construction loans and leases for various property types. He is the author of several articles that have appeared in the Indianapolis Business Journal and has frequently spoken for the International Conference of Shopping Center Law, ICLEF, and National Business Institute. Mr. Abrams is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana State bar associations, and the American College of Real Estate Attorneys (ACREL). He earned his B.S. degree from Miami University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Mary A. Slade
is legal counsel for Metropolitan Title of Indiana, LLC. She has seven years of experience in private practice in creditor's rights, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation and transactions. Prior to two years as a national underwriter covering approximately 30 states, Ms. Slade served as a regional counsel in claims and underwriting for three national title insurance carriers in 16 states and the District of Columbia, as well as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Marion County, Indiana. She was a co-founder and the executive production editor for the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review. Ms. Slade has served three years as the education chair for the Indiana Land Title Association. Her programs on title insurance and real estate have been accredited for title insurance license or attorney license credit in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Ms. Slade is a co-editor of the Indiana State Bar Association's Probate, Property and Real Estate newsletter and the ILTA Real Estate Handbook. She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, and served as the 2017-2018 section chair and 2018-2022 real estate chair for ISBA's Probate Property and Real Estate Section. Ms. Slade earned her undergraduate degree from Butler University and her J.D. degree from Indiana University School of Law.
