Speaker bio
Steven Barshov
is the founder of SBarshovLaw PLLC. He focuses his practice in land use law, environmental law, local government law, real estate, as well as related litigation. Having represented numerous developers, businesses, municipalities, and community organizations in more than 40 years of practice, Mr. Barshov has handled projects of all sizes, from a large master planned community of 1195 units with a commercial center, to a small 3-unit subdivision both inside and outside New York City. He has litigated in the United States Supreme Court in federal courts in the Second, Fifth and Tenth Circuits, at the New York Court of Appeals, Appellate Divisions, and trial courts in multiple counties. Mr. Barshov has been qualified as a land use law expert witness in Supreme Court, Nassau County. He brings to any project a wide range of skills, including drafting complex real estate transactional documents, obtaining land use and related project approvals, undertaking required environmental analysis, and culminating in litigation when necessary. Mr. Barshov has written and lectured extensively in his areas of expertise. He was an adjunct professor of law at Brooklyn Law School, where he taught land use law, state and local government law, and real estate practice. Mr. Barshov earned his B.A. degree from Colgate University and his J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School.

Steven Fried
is based in New York City. A graduate of Tufts University and the University of Tennessee College of Law, he has been practicing since 1996, consulting with and representing entrepreneurs and businesses. Mr. Fried's writings have been featured in various law reviews and other publications. He lectures extensively on legal and ethical issues facing attorneys and the public. In 2017, Mr. Fried founded OliverClarity Inc. and began developing OlyverApp, an online business management platform that helps entrepreneurs build compliant ventures and raise money. He is also a hockey player whose talents remain largely underappreciated.

Dov Treiman
is a partner at Adam Leitman Bailey, P.C. and chairs the landlord-tenant civil litigation practice. As one of the leading authorities in the landlord-tenant bar, his drafting of appellate briefs, legal documents and motions has increased the ability of the firm to garner better results for its clients. Mr. Treiman was involved in private practice for fifteen years before devoting his principal time to the collecting, editing, writing and publishing of scholarly research materials in landlord-tenant law. His writings include numerous articles in the New York Law Journal, and many articles in the Landlord-Tenant Practice Reporter. Mr. Treiman is a highly-sought lecturer on landlord-tenant subjects, and has been retained by most of the providers of continuing legal education in the state of New York. He was the principal consultant to the New York Times for landlord-tenant matters. Mr. Treiman earned his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law.

William Cornachio
is a partner with Rivkin Radler LLP, in the firm's banking and corporate practice groups. He focuses his practice on general corporate and commercial real estate matters, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and real estate finance, and other commercial lending. Mr. Cornachio is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree from Colgate University and his J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law. Mr. Cornachio was named to the Best Lawyers in America for real estate law in 2019 and again in 2020.

Jessica M. Mahoney
is a partner with J&G Law, LLP. She concentrates her practice in residential and commercial real estate law. Ms. Mahoney earned her B.S. degree from Berkeley College in New York and her J.D. degree from Albany Law School. She has dedicated many years to volunteering for several organizations, including as a peer mentor at Berkeley College; media intern for Hudson Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America in Newburgh; cadet executive officer for the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) in Slate Hill; and police officer cadet corps commander for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Goshen. Ms. Mahoney is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties. She is admitted to practice in New York.
