While in school, she worked for Professor Richard Lord as a Williston Scholar and tutored other students as a teaching scholar. Ms. Thompson was also a member of the Law Review, and clerked with the Mast Law Firm in Smithfield.

is an assistant county attorney with Guilford County, North Carolina. He is licensed in both Tennessee and North Carolina. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hicks has practiced family/divorce law, probate and litigation, as well as elder law, juvenile law, and local government law. He is a member of the District 24 (NC), Putnam County (TN), Tennessee, North Carolina, and American bar associations. Mr. Hicks is currently the president of the North Carolina DSS Attorney's Association. He is past-president of the Putnam County Bar Association and the Upper Cumberland Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Hicks is also the past vice-president of the Tennessee Bar Association-Young Lawyers Division. He is a frequent speaker at legal education seminars, having presented over forty CLE presentations. Mr. Hicks is a barrister member of the Guilford Chapter, American Inn of Courts. He earned his B.A. degree from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and his J.D. degree from Faulkner University, Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.

While regularly in the courtroom, Ms. Leader is also an advocate for amicable resolutions. In 2023 and 2024, Ms. Leader was named to the North Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star list. She was also recognized in the field of family law within the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

Ms. Prendergrast-Jones also speaks at numerous CLE seminars and trainings. She earned her B.A. degree from Coker College; her M.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Webster University; and her J.D. degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

In the unlikely event that NBI cancels or reschedules an upcoming program, each registered attendee will be contacted via email by a representative of NBI. Outreach to attendees begins as soon as NBI is made aware that a program will not move forward at its originally scheduled date and time.
