Speaker bio
Peter M. Gannott
is the principal of the Louisville law firm of Gannott Law Group, PLLC. Since 1985, he has focused his practice in the areas of business and consumer bankruptcy, creditors' rights and commercial collections, complex commercial litigation, and real estate matters. Mr. Gannott works with clients on everything from the creation and dissolution of business entities, to representation of our business clients in business-to-business collections or large asset issues. He is a frequent lecturer on his areas of practice and has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Louisville. Mr. Gannott is board-certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification. He graduated, with honors, from the University of Illinois; and earned his J.D. degree from the Washington College of Law, American University.

Robert G. Harris
is the managing partner of Silicon Valley bankruptcy boutique, Binder Malter Harris & Rome-Banks LLP. Mr. Harris has been an active volunteer with the Business Law Sections ("BLS") of the California State Bar and California Lawyers Association for 23 years. He has chaired the BLS, served two full terms as chair of the Insolvency Law Committee and was elected as Co-Vice Chair of the Council of State Bar Sections. Mr. Harris has also been the educational and conference co-chair of the California Bankruptcy Forum. Mr. Harris frequently lectures and writes on bankruptcy topics and has authored numerous articles, case analyses, and other materials, including three state legislative proposals that became California law, including contributing chapters to a book on the topic of small business bankruptcy and the California State Bar Assignment for Benefit of Creditors Desk Guide. Mr. Harris has also testified twice before the California State Senate as an expert in the field of bankruptcy and insolvency. Mr. Harris' practice focuses on representing businesses and individuals in Chapter 11, both as debtors and creditors, and in bankruptcy litigation, state court Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors, receiverships, execution sales and various other bankruptcy and collection matters.

Joshua Burnett
is a partner with Amann Burnett, PLLC. He represents both plaintiff and defendant clients in state and federal court in variety of civil matters, including business, partnership and other contract disputes, real estate and mortgage disputes, consumer protection, and foreclosure defense. In addition to his present areas of concentration, Mr. Burnett has a background in mortgage foreclosure, landlord/tenant, probate law and family law. He also teaches bankruptcy law and creditor's rights at Massachusetts School of Law, and has contributed to Massachusetts continuing legal education programs on bankruptcy-related topics. Mr. Burnett has been recognized as a Rising Star in consumer bankruptcy by Super Lawyer in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell and of the Massachusetts School of Law. Mr. Burnett is also an accomplished pianist and played music professionally for many years.

Laura Taveras
represents debtors and secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. She also has experience guiding clients in insolvency-related litigation, out-of-court restructuring and workouts. Ms. Taveras' work includes debtor representations in Subchapter V and Chapter 15 for international bankruptcies. In addition to her pro bono practice, she serves on the Board of Directors for After 8 to Educate, a Dallas-based organization that seeks to reduce the number of unsheltered young adults and foster self-sufficiency through academic, social and emotional support. Ms. Taveras earned her B.A. degree from City College of New York and her J.D. degree from George Washington University Law School.
