Bradford Newman
is a partner and chair of the North America trade secrets practice; and leader of the AI and blockchain practice at Baker McKenzie LLP. He is the co-chair of the AI Subcommittee of the Business and Commercial Litigation Section of ABA. Recognized by the Daily Journal in 2019 as one of the Top 20 AI Attorneys in California, Mr. Newman has been instrumental in proposing federal AI workplace and IP legislation that was turned into a United States House of Representatives Discussion Draft Bill in 2018. He advises the world's leading producers of AI technology on a wide range of issues, and has developed AI oversight and corporate governance best practices designed to ensure algorithmic fairness. Mr. Newman serves as an invited speaker on AI legal topics to industry and the nation's leading law schools, and is a frequently cited commentator in the mainstream press. As one of the nation's leading AI legal experts, in October of 2023 he was invited to testify before the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety.
