Speaker bio
Gary A. Laurie
is the founder of a full-service entertainment and intellectual property law firm. For over 15 years, the firm has been protecting and enforcing its client's intellectual property rights as well as negotiating content deals on both the production and talent side of the table. With a focus on entertainment, intellectual property, and corporate matters, the firm is in a position to offer a full range of services to artists, businesses and individuals. The firm's intellectual property practice provides a complete range of transactional services for domestic and international companies. In addition to registering trademarks and copyrights throughout the United States and abroad, the firm assists clients in exploiting their intellectual property rights, as well as counsels clients concerning the validity and valuation of intellectual property. Mr. Laurie is a past chair of the Entertainment Arts and Sports Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He also teaches courses in contract, business and entertainment law at Montclair State University; as well as Music Business Law at New Jersey City University. Mr. Laurie is a frequent lecturer on entertainment and intellectual property topics and provides volunteer services for the Pro Bono Partnership. He earned his bachelor's degree from Montclair State University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall University.

Matthew B. Wenzlau
is the founder of the WSE Firm, PLLC, located in Nashville, Tennessee and Scottsdale, Arizona. For over 25 years, he has worked in the music, film, entertainment, and privacy/data industries Mr. Wenzlau's body of work includes securitization, funding and distribution for multi-million-dollar motion pictures; production counsel/producer for feature-length films and television shows; and general counsel for Grammy award winning music artists. His practice also includes specialized trusts, legal and branding matters, and client representation before federal, state and local regulatory agencies, including the USPTO, United States Copyright Office, and the SEC. Mr. Wenzlau is a long-time member of the Recording Academy, Gospel Music Association and the Country Music Association. He earned his B.A. degree from Baylor University, his J.D. degree from Regent University School of Law and his M.B.A. degree from Arizona State University. Mr. Wenzlau is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the State Bar of Tennessee.

Bill Hochberg
is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Raines Feldman Littrell LLP. He specializes in music and media law. As a recognized thought leader, Mr. Hochberg writes regularly in Forbes and other pre-eminent publications, and speaks at worldwide music and media conferences. From recording and publishing deals, to copyright disputes, to catalog valuations, to music licensing, he handles many and varied music and media matters with an approach that is both pragmatic and innovative. Mr. Hochberg earned his B.A. degree from Brandeis University and his J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law. He is admitted to the State Bar of California.

Joshua Irwin Schiller
is a partner in the law firm of Boies Schiller Flexner LLP in New York and San Francisco. He is an experienced trial lawyer and recognized as an accomplished litigator in intellectual property law and the application of fair use law in the field of copyright. Mr. Schiller's practice areas also include intellectual property litigation, crisis management and government response, art and music law, entertainment, the First Amendment, securities, civil rights, antitrust, and bankruptcy and restructuring. He has litigated in a variety of complex matters on behalf of clients throughout the United States and various other parts of the globe. Mr. Schiller earned his B.A. degree from Yale University and his J.D. degree from Columbia Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York; California; U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, Second, Fourth, Fifth Circuit, Ninth and Tenth circuits; and U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern districts of New York.
