Speaker bio
Michael J. Gorby
is a founder and partner with Gorby Peters & Associates, LLC. He is a nationally recognized leader in complex corporate disputes, professional negligence cases, and liability issues that arise for property owners and managers, such as hotel chains, restaurants, shopping centers, apartment complexes, office buildings and other public venues. Since 1998, Mr. Gorby has served as the program chair for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia (an affiliate of the University of Georgia), on the topic of premises liability. He is also the author of a popular legal treatise, Premises Liability in Georgia, which is published by Thomson Reuters/West, and which is now in its third edition. Mr. Gorby serves as an instructor/lecturer for Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center (GTPAC) in the area of procuring government contracts, and is also a registered mediator. He earned his B.A. degree from Georgia State University and his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Thomas P. Owen, Jr.
is a member with Stanley Reuter Alford Owen Munson & Paul, LLC in New Orleans. He concentrates his practice in providing legal advice and representation to business clients, particularly concerning closely held companies. Mr. Owen represents clients in litigation and arbitration disputes, as well as providing advice to clients regarding numerous business matters, including corporate formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, employment issues, insurance coverage disputes, confidentiality concerns, and trade secret protection. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association and a member of the Board of Advisory Editors of the Tulane Law Review. Mr. Owen serves as an assistant bar examiner for the Louisiana Bar. He earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Tulane Law School.

Mark D. Kimball
is the founding shareholder of MDK Law, a firm emphasizing corporate, commercial and property law, and consulting in matters involving federal and international taxation. He is admitted to practice in Washington, New York, Texas and Oregon. Mr. Kimball is an adjunct professor of law at Eotvos Lorand and Masaryk Universities in Europe, and has served as a law school guest lecturer at Seattle University School of Law. He is also engaged as an expert witness in superior court cases involving limited liability companies, governance, and other member issues. Mr. Kimball has been admitted to the Second Circuit Bar (New York, Connecticut and Vermont), Fifth Circuit Bar (Texas and Louisiana), and the Oregon State Bar. He earned his J.D. degree and LL.M. (taxation) degree from the University of Washington School of Law, and also holds an LL.M. degree in transnational commercial practice from Europe.

Robert M. Singer
is a sole practitioner with the Law Offices of Robert M. Singer, L.L.C. in Hamden, where he practices in the areas of commercial law, bankruptcy and collections. Mr. Singer is a past adjunct professor at Southern Connecticut State University and has written many articles on his areas of practice including "(Limited Liability Corporations) An Investment Vehicle for Future Income", Financial Freedom Quarterly. He is also the author of the book, Library of Connecticut Collection Law Forms. Mr. Singer is a member of the New Haven County Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. He earned his B.S.B.A. degree in accounting from Bryant College, his J.D. degree from Western New England College, and his M.S. degree in taxation from the University of New Haven. Mr. Singer has litigated cases successfully before the Connecticut Supreme Court and Connecticut Appellate Court.
