Jay D. Adkisson
is a partner of the law firm of Adkisson Pitet LLP, with his offices in Newport Beach, California; and Henderson, Nevada. He has served as an American Bar Association appointed advisor to the Uniform Law Commission Committee on the Uniform Voidable Transaction Act (formerly, the Uniform Fraudulent Transfers Act). Mr. Adkisson is currently an American Bar Association appointed advisor to the Drafting Committee on the (proposed) Uniform Series of Unincorporated Business Entities. He is a member in good standing of the Oklahoma Bar Association, American Bar Association and the State Bars of Texas, California, Nevada and Arizona. Mr. Adkisson's practice is also in the areas of creditor-debtor law, including creditor-side collections and debtor-side representation and asset protection planning, and captive insurance planning. He is the former chair of the American Bar Association's Committee on Captive Insurance in the Business Law Section, and currently is a vice-chair of the Committee on Insurance and Financial Products in the Probate, Trust and Estates Section. Mr. Adkisson is the creator of Quatloos.com, which is an internationally famous website that exposes various financial and tax scams. He is the author, along with his law partner Mr. Chris Riser, of Asset Protection: Concepts and Strategies (McGraw-Hill, 2004), which is believed to be the only U.S. asset protection work translated into Chinese and sold in China. He has twice testified as an expert witness to the U.S. Finance Committee regarding abusive tax schemes. Mr. Adkisson is also a regular contributor to Forbes Magazine and its website, and a frequent lecturer on topics related to his areas of practice. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Oklahoma and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Oklahoma.

Lane Shetterly
is Of Counsel with the law firm of Sherman Sherman Johnnie and Hoyt, LLP in Dallas, Oregon. He practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, small business, property transactions and municipal law. Mr. Shetterly was chair of the Oregon Law Commission for 21 years, until 2019. He is currently a member from Oregon on the national Uniform Law Commission, a position he holds by appointment of the Governor. Mr. Shetterly earned his B.S. degree from Western Oregon University and his J.D. degree from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College.

Robert T. Sherwin
is the Champions in Advocacy Endowed Professor of Law and director of Advocacy Programs at Texas Tech University School of Law. In 2019, 2020, 2023, and 2024, Professor Sherwin led Tech Law's advocacy program to the number-one national ranking in the American Bar Association's Competitions Championship (the program ranked second nationally in 2018 and 2021). In addition to directing the Tech Law advocacy program, Professor Sherwin teaches Entertainment Law, Commercial Litigation, Trial Advocacy, and Appellate Advocacy. His scholarship primarily explores issues at the intersection of intellectual property and civil procedure. Professor Sherwin has written extensively on the subject of litigation bullying, including Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation, or "SLAPP" suits. In 2017, his work in this area led to his appointment as the Reporter on the Uniform Law Commission's Drafting Committee on Anti-SLAPP Legislation. In that capacity, Professor Sherwin was responsible for crafting the Uniform Public Expression Protection Act, a uniform anti-SLAPP act adopted by the Commission in July of 2020. He now works to educate state legislatures, judges, and attorneys about the uniform act and free-speech issues generally. Professor Sherwin earned his B.S. degree from Texas Christian University and his J.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.
