Ms. Nelson also handles matters involving sport injuries, bicycle accidents, animal attacks, and premises accidents resulting in injury. She is a principal lecturer at the Anderson School of Management, University of New Mexico, where she teaches business management law and employment law. Ms. Nelson also lectures on employment and labor matters through the UNM EPIC program. She earned her B.A. degree from Edgewood College and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Drake University Law School. Ms. Hoover graduated from the University of New Mexico with her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees, and holds an interdisciplinary studies degree in outdoor adventure leadership and journalism. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Cannabis Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico, Business Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico, and Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of New Mexico. During graduate school, Ms. Hoover explored the intersection of technology, business, law, and the creative economy and how to reduce barriers to those spaces for women and BIPOC communities. She holds her license to practice law in the states of New Mexico and Texas.

He has represented publicly traded companies who successfully reorganized in bankruptcy and major creditors in their collection from complex bankruptcies. With decades of experience trying cases, Mr. Ray is well known as trial counsel in several high-profile and bet-the-company cases. For over 15 years, he has been board-certified in business bankruptcy law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Recognized for his work in Texas bankruptcy and restructuring cases by Chambers USA, Mr. Ray has also been the recipient of three Turnaround Atlas awards for his work on complex energy restructurings. He frequently appears in large, complex chapter 11 bankruptcy cases representing oil companies, oil service companies, their vendors and creditors on bankruptcy issues unique to the energy business. Mr. Ray also represents clients in complex bankruptcy proceedings unrelated to the energy sector, but which require tenacity and strategic foresight. He has facilitated debt workouts out of court. Since 1998, Mr. Gorby has served as the program chair for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia (an affiliate of the University of Georgia), on the topic of premises liability. He is also the author of a popular legal treatise, Premises Liability in Georgia, which is published by Thomson Reuters/West, and which is now in its third edition. Mr. Gorby serves as an instructor/lecturer for Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center (GTPAC) in the area of procuring government contracts, and is also a registered mediator. Additionally, Mr. Govea has financial services litigation experience representing national association banks and other institutional lenders in creditors rights matters, post judgment execution, and enforcement litigation. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, he defended New Mexico businesses, state agencies, municipalities, and school districts in employment matters, civil rights cases, complex litigation, water rights cases, real estate issues, and contract disputes. Mr. Govea is a graduate of Loyola New Orleans College of Law and a graduate of Boston University. Prior to attending law school, he was a congressional liaison for a state agency and a high school social sciences teacher. Originally from El Paso, Texas, Mr. Govea is proud to call New Mexico home, where he lives with his wife, son and two dogs.
