Speaker bio
J. Gregory Grisham
is a partner in the Memphis office of Fisher & Phillips LLP. He has 30 years of experience counseling and representing employers in all aspects of workplace law in Tennessee and across the United States. Mr. Grisham has helped employers avoid claims, charges and lawsuits, with a focus on preventative practices. Preventative practices include counseling in situations involving discipline, termination, demotion, promotion, and other workplace changes in the terms and conditions of employment; harassment investigations; wage and hour compliance; FMLA compliance; reasonable accommodation assessment; supervisor training; and the review of employment policies and procedures. He has successfully litigated hundreds of administrative charges, employment lawsuits, and arbitration demands on behalf of employers, including federal and state law claims alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, invasion of privacy, breach of contract, wage and hour violations and ERISA violations, among others. Mr. Grisham represents employers in the enforcement of post-employment restrictive covenants, such as non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements, and related trade secret litigation. He is a regular speaker at public seminars on workplace law issues, and has authored numerous articles on a variety of labor and employment law related topics. Mr. Grisham currently serves on the Executive Council of the Tennessee Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section, and is a board member of the Memphis Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee; his M.B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi; and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Memphis.

Helen M. Robinson
is an attorney with Marshall Forman & Schlein, LLC. She practices in the areas of labor and employment law, and police misconduct. Ms. Robinson worked at a major insurance company for more than 20 years, where she held positions as human resources specialist, HR supervisor, regional HR manager, corporate HR director, and assistant vice president, Human Capital. She also held multiple executive positions in various business units, with profit and loss accountability for several large regional operations. Ms. Robinson is a member of the Columbus and Ohio State bar associations, Ohio Employment Lawyers Association and the Women Lawyers of Franklin County Bar Association. She earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Ohio University; and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, with a concentration in employment and labor law, from Capital University Law School.

Charles J. Mataya
has developed a focused practice of litigation and counseling in various areas of labor and employment law, including the defense of class and collective individual actions in both state and federal courts. Mr. Mataya acts as lead counsel for prominent employers throughout the United States in the counsel and defense of employment and labor claims, including claims of wrongful discharge, breach of an employment contract, illegal discrimination under the various federal and state laws, and myriad other areas of employment and labor law. These areas include issues and claims relating to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and related state statutes; the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); the American with Disabilities Act (ADA); the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA); the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA); and obligations and issues relating to Executive Order 11246, including affirmative action obligations and the defense of enforcement actions brought by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). He represents clients in various industries, but over the last decade he has developed a concentration in the representation of employers in healthcare, manufacturing, government contracting, and retail sales. Mr. Mataya helps clients keep pace with changes and developments in labor and employment law. He is a frequent lecturer on topics related to labor/management relations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, drug testing and privacy issues, the Fair Labor Standards Act, anti-harassment in the workplace, Title VII, and discipline and discharge policies and procedures. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, Tennessee and American (Litigation Section) bar associations, and the firm representative for the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Mataya is Martindale-Hubbell® AV Preeminent Rated, which means he has been ranked by his peers and the judiciary at the highest level of professional excellence. He has also been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for employment law - management, litigation - labor & employment, and labor law - management. Sarah N. Turner
is a partner with the employment/labor; ERISA/life; health and disability; and cannabis, hemp and CBD practice groups; and is a co-managing partner of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP's Seattle office. Her employment and labor practice focuses on employers and includes a hybrid of counseling and litigation. Ms. Turner is an experienced litigator who has represented and defended employers in matters involving claims for wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, privacy, defamation, ADA, leave and benefits, breach of contract, violation of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, and wage and hour. She practices in both Washington and Oregon's state and federal trial and appellate courts, and in arbitrations before American Arbitration Association and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services. Ms. Turner also has experience representing clients before federal and state agencies including the National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, Department of Health, Washington's Labor and Industries, Washington's Human Rights Commission, Employee Security Department, Seattle Office of Civil Rights, Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industries, and other state and local administrative agencies. She earned her bachelor's degree from University of California, San Diego; and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from New England School of Law. Ms. Turner is a member of American Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, Oregon State Bar, King County Bar Association, Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, and Defense Research Institute. She is admitted to practice in Washington, Oregon and Massachusetts; United States District Court, Washington, Eastern and Western districts; United States District Court, Oregon; United States District Court, District of Massachusetts; and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
