Joseph Mazzerella

is a partner with McCarter & English LLP in Hartford, Connecticut. He brings his diverse in-house experience to clients in corporate, finance, licensing, and government relations matters. Mr. Mazzarella has more than 30 years of senior legal and business technology leadership experience. He has served in a variety of operational and legal leadership roles, including as general counsel to several telecommunications, networking, and software companies; and president and chief operating officer of a leading technology company in the public safety, defense, and communications space. A cutting-edge tech industry leader, Mr. Mazzarella holds more than 30 U.S. patents in numerous emerging areas, including no-code/low-code platforms, clean energy networks, interoperable multimedia communications, biosensor networks, IoT, AI, blockchain, drones, and wearable computing. He regularly speaks on emerging AI regulatory issues. Mr. Mazzarella also has been directly involved in structuring complex debt and equity financing, IP licensing, international joint ventures, M&A, supplier, and channel distribution and manufacturing agreements. He is experienced in government relations in both policy and appropriations at the federal and state level, as well as federal contracting, export controls, FCPA, and other regulatory compliance matters. In addition, Mr. Mazzarella has managed commercial litigation. He earned his B.S. degree, with honors, from Hobart and William Smith College; and J.D. degree, cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law.

In the unlikely event that NBI cancels or reschedules an upcoming program, each registered attendee will be contacted via email by a representative of NBI. Outreach to attendees begins as soon as NBI is made aware that a program will not move forward at its originally scheduled date and time.
