J. Rodrigo Pocasangre
is an attorney in the Winston-Salem office of Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP. He has a well-rounded knowledge base, due to practicing in several different practice areas such as criminal defense, general litigation and employment law. Mr. Pocasangre has experience in multiple courts including trial level state and federal courts and has also appeared before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court. Because he previously practiced criminal defense, he has actual courtroom experience derived from being in court almost every day for over a decade. Mr. Pocasangre earned his B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and his J.D. degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section and North Carolina Bar Association.

Joshua L. Rogers
is counsel in the Durham office of Sands Anderson. He assists North Carolina organizations in navigating workplace conflicts. Mr. Rogers' work, which encompasses a wide range of employment law issues, includes internal investigations, employee complaints, and other personnel decisions. He particularly enjoys conducting third-party workplace investigations and helping employers discern what is causing conflict, whether there is legal exposure, and how they can best mitigate risk. Mr. Rogers' wealth of experience includes litigating claims under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, and Pregnancy Discrimination Act, as well as Section 1983. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Mr. Rogers is admitted to practice in North Carolina, Virginia, and Mississippi.

is a member of the Littler Mendelson P.C. CaseSmart - Charges™ team and is based in North Carolina. She is responsible for handling charges from investigation to conclusion. She works on client-dedicated service teams, focusing on handling administrative agency charges. Ms. Jones investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, she defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency's requests for information. Ms. Jones earned her B.A. degree from Yale University and her J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. She is admitted to practice in North Carolina and Virginia.

Amber N. Peters
is an attorney in the Charlotte office of Fisher & Phillips LLP. She focuses her practice on labor and employment litigation and counseling. Ms. Peters defends employers in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) investigations, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) administrative Charges, National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) proceedings, and actions in federal and state courts. She has significant experience defending claims involving restrictive covenants, Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Equal Pay Act (EPA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Ms. Peters has also represented companies and executives in general business and contract disputes. She counsels employers on a wide range of employment and workplace matters, including claims, risk management, employment policies, training, terminations, and leaves of absence. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Denver and her J.D. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. Ms. Peters is admitted to practice in North Carolina and Illinois.

Michael B. Cohen
is an attorney in the Raleigh office of Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP. He is in the firm's labor and employment practice group, where he focuses his practice on representing employers in wage and hour class and collective actions, FMLA claims, ADA claims, restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation, and wrongful termination actions. Mr. Cohen has extensive experience representing his clients before federal and state courts across the U.S., as well as federal, state, and local administrative agencies. In addition to his litigation practice, he routinely counsels his clients through a number of complex issues, including independent contractor misclassification, exempt employee misclassification, restrictive covenant violations, trade secret misappropriation, managing leave and accommodation requests, and terminations. Mr. Cohen also helps draft and revise employee handbooks, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, severance agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements. He earned his B.A. degree from The George Washington University and his J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. She also defends employers against charges of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation before federal and state administrative agencies throughout the United States. She has more than 30 years' experience counseling employers and representing them before government agencies and in employment litigation involving Title VII and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, Equal Pay Act, and Family and Medical Leave Act, as well as similar state laws. Ms. Shea also conducts employment-related investigations as well as training for human resources professionals, management, and employees on a wide variety of topics. She is editor-in-chief of Constangy's legal bulletins and its four law blogs Affirmative Action Alert, California Snapshot, Cyber Advisor, and Employment & Labor Insider. Ms. Shea earned her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and her J.D. degree from Wake Forest University.
