Alexandria Cates
is an attorney with the law firm of DLA Piper LLP in Seattle. She focuses her practice on employment advice and counselling, workplace investigations, and employment guidance on transactional matters for a wide range of employers. Ms. Cates regularly advises clients on various issues, including workplace misconduct, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hiring and termination, wage and hour laws, state and federal leave laws, ADA accommodations, reductions in force, and employment handbooks and policies. She has also conducted workplace investigations on allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, bullying, and unethical conduct. Ms. Cates has experience conducting workplace investigations of all sizes, including high-profile investigations that have made national headlines. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Washington and her J.D. degree from UCLA School of Law. Ms. Cates is a member of the Washington and King County bar associations, and State Bar of California.

Gregory A. Hendershott
is a partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. He helps his clients by offering practical, direct advice to employers in all areas of legal compliance, from compensation and executive employment agreements to disability, leaves of absence, workplace culture issues, union relations and union avoidance, handbooks and policies, discipline, and sensitive terminations. Mr. Hendershott regularly conducts training in harassment and other employment issues and leads high-profile workplace investigations including executive misconduct. With first-chair litigation and trial experience, he has the knowledge and expertise to counsel clients on how to avoid litigation. Mr. Hendershott rounds out his practice by offering strategic advice to employers covering labor matters. His litigation experience includes the full range of employment matters, including class-action wage-and-hour matters, employment discrimination, bonus and commission pay, and noncompete/trade secret cases. Mr. Hendershott's labor relations work includes handling collective bargaining, unfair labor practice charges, arbitrations, picketing, union organizing, prevailing wage project labor agreements, and strikes. He earned his B.A. degree from Michigan State University and his J.D. degree from University of Oregon School of Law.

Kimberly A. Kamel
is of counsel at Paine Hamblen in Spokane, Washington, with a branch office in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Licensed in Washington and Idaho, her practice is focused on labor and employment law. Ms. Kamel provides day-to-day employment advice, drafts contracts, handbooks, responds to EEOC and HRC charges and also litigates cases. She represents clients in administrative and court litigation in Washington and Idaho. Ms. Kamel has successfully defended business clients in Human Rights Commission complaints, unemployment and EEOC claims, and industrial insurance claims in federal and state courts in Washington and Idaho. She has extensive experience related to wage and hour claims, discrimination claims, and labor disputes and negotiations. Ms. Kamel also counsels employers on day-to-day labor and employment issues. She frequently represents employers in all aspects of employment defense litigation, Ms. Kamel also provides consulting services which include day-to-day advice regarding employment issues. She conducts investigations and provides training and compliance advice and advises management in labor negotiations. Ms. Kamel is the past legislative chair for the Spokane Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management Association and past Executive Committee chair for the Labor and Employment Group for the Washington State Bar Association. She served as an extern for the U.S. District Court Judge Robert Whaley for the Eastern District of Washington. Ms. Kamel earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California Irvine and her law degree, cum laude, from Gonzaga University.

Meg A. Burnham
is of counsel with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. Her legal practice is a combination of both employment litigation and advice work. Ms. Burnham works with a variety of clients across several industries including, but not limited to, healthcare, technology, banking, maritime, and transportation. Her experience working across numerous industries allows her to litigate and advise any type of client without hesitation, and it keeps her practice interesting and diverse. Ms. Burnham defends employers in single-plaintiff cases and wage and hour class actions. She has extensive experience litigating claims of discrimination, retaliation, leave interference, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters. Additionally, she frequently represents clients in front of state and federal agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") and the Washington State Human Rights Commission ("WSHRC"), as well as in arbitration. Ms. Burnham also regularly advises clients on employment issues and conducts investigations. She is recognized by clients and her colleagues alike for being responsive, passionate, and reasonable. Karen A. Kalzer
is a partner with Helsell Fetterman LLP. She practices employment and education law with an emphasis on defending complex litigation for communities of faith, non-profits, schools and private employers. Ms. Kalzer has handled and successfully resolved over 300 claims of employee misconduct by combining tough incisive legal tactics with an empathetic litigation approach and compassionate communication skills. Her practice requires targeted experience in areas of privacy rights, constitutional issues, mental health, and human development. Additionally, Ms. Kalzer has tried professional liability and employment discrimination cases to verdict in district court and superior court, and engaged in oral argument in Divisions I and II of the Washington State Court of Appeals and the Washington State Supreme Court. She has practiced in both state and federal court. Ms. Kalzer is experienced in managing complex multi-plaintiff litigation and bringing the matter to a successful and cost efficient conclusion. Kelly D. Rooksby
is the co-managing partner of the firm's Spokane/Coeur d'Alene and Boise offices. She is licensed in Washington, Idaho and California. Ms. Rooksby is an experienced and tenacious litigator who practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, employment law, education law, and other related litigation matters. She defends against class actions, single-plaintiff lawsuits and administrative charges. She has extensive experience litigating complex business disputes across a variety of industries, including financial services, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, and technology. Ms. Rooksby has represented clients in complex state and federal matters involving claims for breach of contract, torts, fraud, false advertising, alter ego, breach of fiduciary duty, defamation, misappropriation, and equitable claims, among others. In her employment practice, she defends employers in lawsuits involving a variety of legal claims, including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, breach of contract, unfair competition, and other workplace misconduct. Ms. Rooksby also dedicates her practice to consulting with clients to help them avoid litigation. He has represented individuals, small businesses, non-profit and educational institutions in state and federal courts in California, Pennsylvania, Washington, and across the United States. As a business trial attorney, Mr. Johnson has broad experience in areas including complex commercial litigation, consumer fraud, antitrust, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations. Aside from handling litigation matters, he has also negotiated executive compensation agreements and institutional vendor contracts on behalf of numerous private companies and educational institutions, as well has handling collective bargaining negotiations and National Labor Relations Board matters.
